說起Michael Wolf，多有留意攝影師動向的人似乎不會太在意他德國人的身份，有時更覺得他是一個「香港攝影師」。他最為人熟悉的攝影集《Architecture of Density》出版於2009年，比Instagram出現得還早——他可能是第一位攝影師發現彩虹邨的幾何美態，更甚的卻是他的相片讓世人發現香港的住屋有多稠密，也有多震撼。Michael Wolf 長年定居香港，他的許多作品都在香港拍攝的，對象卻是樓房、後巷、土地神主位等這些我們天天都見到，卻鮮有駐足觀看的事物。在Michael Wolf 的鏡頭下，平凡的事與人都配以冷靜的精神和美學呈現，變得再也不平凡。他也有飛去港人另一個「家鄉」日本，拍攝東京人繁忙時間搭鐵路的擠逼慘狀，以黑色幽默提醒人們，在東京生活殊不容易。今年三月的Art Central中，Michael Wolf 再有新作品示人，名為《Cheung Chau Sunrises》。在香港拍攝的日出，拍出舒暢的畫意詩情，原來香港也可以看到這樣的日出。本以為我們還可以期待來自Michael Wolf 更多的創意，他卻於昨日（4月25日）溘然長逝於長洲家中，讓人萬般惋惜。他為香港以及不少攝影師帶來如何觀察事物的啟發，成為珍貴的寶藏。撰文：周穎瑤攝影：Michael Wolf，由Blue Lotus Gallery 提供
